Radio RAMPA’s guest is Curtis Sliwa – the Republican Party candidate for Mayor of New York City. Curtis Sliwa is an American of Polish descent, the founder of Guardian Angels.
In an interview with Monika Adamski, Curtis Sliwa talks about his Polish descent and the history of his family. He recalls the year 2000 when he was sashed as the Grand Marshal of the Pulaski Parade in Polonaise Terrace in Greenpoint. As Curtis promised Radio RAMPA – on the first day in his new job – if elected – he will clean up the Polonaise Terrace building, which has been damaged by graffiti for years.
He also talks about his plan to win the election for NYC Mayor – in this year’s general election, Curtis will have at least two opponents – Eric Adams, who is running as an independent, and the Democratic Party candidate, elected through primary elections in June.
Curtis Sliwa clearly presents his approach to cooperating with the federal authorities and President Donald Trump, as well as with the state authorities – the Democratic governor – and the New York City Council – consisting mainly of Democrats.
Curtis Sliwa talks about how he would like to improve safety in New York City and cooperate with the NYPD. He is an opponent of the sanctuary city laws – this issue is also widely discussed in the interview.
Curtis also discusses his plan to provide additional housing in New York City, and his plan to address the mental health crisis among many of the city’s residents, who unfortunately, often become homeless or dangerous to others, because of their condition.
Curtis Sliwa also discusses his relationship with Mayor Eric Adams, and answers the question: is there one thing that Eric Adams’ administration has done that Curtis Sliwa, as mayor, would like to keep during his term.
