On Sunday, October 6, the Pulaski Parade marched along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. That same morning, presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump met with representatives of the Polish community at Trump Tower located at Fifth Avenue and 56th Street.
As Radio RAMPA has established, Donald Trump invited representatives of the Polish community to his residence – the meeting was attended by representatives of the Pulaski Parade – Grand Marshal of the 87th Pulaski Parade Piotr Praszkowicz with his family, Richard J. Zawisny, David Kopala with his family, as well as: Joseph Tluczek – Bethlehem Polish Youth, Janusz Kudełko, the person behind the idea of the “Solidarity” monument in American Częstochowa and representatives of the Polish American Congress – Jerzy Śliwowski and Andrzej Burghardt.
Also present was journalist Michał Rachoń from Telewizja Republika, who recorded an interview with Donald Trump that day.
As Piotr Praszkowicz told Radio RAMPA right after the meeting, “it was an incredible experience. A long conversation – it was wonderful.” After the Parade, calmly, Piotr Praszkowicz said a bit more about the meeting: “In reality, you talk to him completely differently, and it looks different than on TV.” When asked what they talked about, Piotr Praszkowicz replied: “he asked about Polonia, what questions we have, what we would like, and what he intends to do. Of course, he supports Polish-Americans – that was the most important thing. We also sent an invitation [to the Parade – editor’s note] to the opposing candidate [Kamala Harris – editor’s note], but we did not receive a reply.”
Pulaski Parade General Committee issued following statement after the meeting:
“This year’s Pulaski Parade was inaugurated in a very special way. The 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, invited the Pulaski Parade delegation to his residence at Trump Tower for a wonderful reception. He extended his best wishes to the Polish American community for a joyous celebration on this special day and throughout Polish Heritage Month. Thank you, Mr. President! God bless you! 🇺🇸🤝🇵🇱”
Also on Sunday, on the Truth Social platform, Donald Trump posted a video in which he greeted the Polish community on the occasion of General Pulaski Day – in the video he emphasized Pulaski’s achievements, saying that he was brave and strong and represented so much to the Polish people. Donald Trump said that he was asked to prepare the video by “great Polish patriots” who he knows and respects and that it was an honor for him. “I wish tremendous Pulaski Day – if you are in the Parade, that’s even better. We love Poland, we love the Polish people and there is nobody better – they are great, strong and smart. We will Make America Great Again” – concluded Donald Trump.
